Paul Schulz

Executive Director

“While serendipity led my family to vacation on MV, we instantly knew we had found our home. Joining the Legacy Circle is our way to ensure our new community thrives in perpetuity.

Paul Schulz and his family came to Martha’s Vineyard in July 2020 for a two-week vacation.  They never left.  By their third day on the Island they knew this was an incredibly special place.  Their summer shuffle led to a winter rental and eventually a home in East Chop.

Paul immediately immersed himself in Island life, serving as president of the Oak Bluffs School-Parent-Teacher Association where his daughter, Tessa, is in the eighth grade. He also joined the board of the East Chop Association and the Capital Committee for the town of Oak Bluffs. And until he came to the Foundation, he was vice chair of the Martha’s Vineyard Donor Collaborative where he began to learn about the Island’s diverse non-profit community.

Paul brings a deep background in non-profit work as well business savvy to further strengthen and expand the Foundation. After increasingly responsible positions at McKinsey & Company, the Los Angeles Times and yahoo!, Paul turned to non-profit management. He was CEO of Red Cross Los Angeles and helped lead the California Community Foundation both as a board member and as vice president of development and donor relations.

Paul and his family enjoy walking, tennis and biking the Vineyard’s trails.  His wife Jessica has deep New England roots.
