The Permanent Endowment is dedicated to strengthening the quality of life on the Island by connecting people and resources to address current and emerging needs.  We welcome anyone who loves Martha’s Vineyard to join us.   Whether the Island is your home year round or you visit us often, we can help you participate in bettering the community for everyone.

As the community foundation for Martha’s Vineyard, we are concerned with Island issues, including our people, our environment, our history and our culture.  We are a tax exempt, public charitable fund that welcomes gifts of any size and works to build a permanent source of assets for the benefit of the Island community.  Your gift to the Endowment not only serves the Island, but also provides you with the maximum federal and state tax deductions as well as the legal, accounting and administrative services donors need.  Our costs are low so we can put almost all of our resources to work for the Island.  Currently, our operating expenses are one percent of a fund’s total assets.  In addition, we can assist you in directing your contributions to the Island organizations that best match your philanthropic goals.
