The Permanent Endowment provides local control and responsible stewardship of its assets which are central to fulfilling its mission of building charitable funds to strengthen the Island community.  Our investment objective is to earn a competitive rate of return to support annual grant making as well as to sustain long-term growth to provide lasting resources for the benefit of the Island.  Over the past five years, through gifts and market appreciation, assets have grown more than 40 percent.  The Board sets overall investment policy, reviews asset allocations and oversees the performance of the Endowment's investment manager, the Martha's Vineyard Financial Group.
